Rosewood Elementary students make a contribution
Teacher Pat Peter's enthusiasm for the work Serendib is planning in ravaged Sri Lanka took hold in her 5th grade students at Rosewood Elementary School in Columbia, SC. The class wanted to help with a donation and came up with the idea for a bake sale. So, today in the cafeteria of the school their plan was realized. The sale brought in over $385.00, much to the delight of all involved.
Pat presented the funds, mostly in coin, to Elizabeth at the school today. See accomapnying photos. Several students were still at school and witnessed the exciting event.
Elizabeth told Pat about future plans for the students to correspond with Sri Lankan students of the same age; and possibly to pay for the years cost ($50) of schooling for their Pen Pals.
Tucker and the whole Serendib family thank the kids at Rosewood Elementary for their generousity.
